  1. 5 CRPG has a Class B Permanent for a Maj/Maj MOS ID/Occupation 90024-GSO to commence on 15-OCT-2021 until 14-OCT-2024. Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.
  2. Essential requirements are as fols:
    1. Rank: Maj/Maj
      IAW Ref A, applicants who are one rank lower or one rank higher may apply, however will only be considered in those exceptional circumstances where no other qualified candidate is available. If one rank higher is the only suitable applicant, mbr may be required to relinquish their rank for the period of employment.

    7. Required experience and quals:
      • Course Remarks:
        • 1. AOC;
          2. Formal training or significant experience in financial management;
          3. Current qualification in Expenditure Management, Contracting Direct With Trade and Green Procurement; and
          4. Experience in a formation or command HQ.

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic:
    • A. Presiding Officer Certification;
      B. Experience in working with the Canadian Ranger organization or comparable volunteer group;
      C. Experience in working with youth programs such as Junior Canadian Rangers or Cadets;
      D. Experience in resource management such as control over large amounts of eqpt distributed over multiple accounts;
      E. Experience in administrative procedures necessary to support Regular Force, Primary Reserve, Civilian, Canadian Ranger and Junior Canadian Ranger personnel;
      F. Experience in the business and operational planning process;
      G. Be prepared to deploy in a field environment in either a leadership or support role for extended periods of time on either the Land or the Sea;
      H. Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
      I. Excellent inter-personal communications skills; and
      J. Capable of working independently in support of operations or training while maintaining the Commander's overall intent.
  4. Basic description of duties: A. Provide leadership and guidance to all 5 CRPG HQ Staff;
    B. Act as Officer in Charge or Second in Command of patrol level field deployments over land or sea while travelling by either all-terrain vehicle, light over snow vehicle, boat or by foot;
    C. Assist in the confirmation of CR and JCR training through patrol visits;
    D. Attend Area and National conferences/working groups;
    E. Supervise and maintain effective administration for all staff, CRs and JCRs;
    F. Provide direct supervision and leadership to 5 CRPG Administrative and logistical support staff;
    G. Produce and maintain 5 CRPG USOs;
    H. Fulfill the duties of the unit Responsibility Center (RC) Manager maintaining effective control of several financial allocations encompassing a multimillion dollar budget;
    I. Provide direct control over all assigned CR and JCR stores through respective patrols and designated staff;
    J. Assist in the operational deployment of unit assets and personal in support of DOMOPs as tasked; and
    K. Complete other tasks or duties as assigned by the unit Commanding Officer.
