  1. CFSACO has a Class A for a Capt/Capt MOS ID/Occupation 90025-AIR OPS to commence on 10-APR-2020 until 09-APR-2040. Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Regular Force, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Cadet Org and Trg Service, Canadian Rangers.

    1. Rank: Capt/Capt
      Qualified Lt eligible for promotion may apply. Maj may also apply but will have to relinquish rank.
    2. MOS ID: 90025-AIR OPS
      includes ACSO, AEC, PLT
    3. Language: English essential
    4. Security clearance: Secret
    5. Health: BE MED/DENT FIT
    6. Physical fitness: MUST BE PHYSICALLY FIT
    7. Required experience and quals:
      • Competency Remarks:
        • Experience as either: Aerodrome Controller, Terminal Controller. Weapons Controller, or simulation experience as Pilot or ACSO.
    8. Position requirements for regular force annuitants permit IAW CMP instruction 20/04: Yes - Either Option ( (# 20/04))
  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic:
    • Experience operating and piloting simulators an asset; Instructor qualified and experience as an instructor an asset
  4. Basic description of duties: A. Operate and pilot VFR and other simulators (Sim);
    B. Provide advice to the position supervisor to ensure optimum effectiveness of the Sim;
    C. Schedule all necessary initial qualification training for simulator pilots (General Technicians(GT));
    D. Maintain currency in a GT positions;
    E. Assist in simulation exercise development and validation to meet approved standards statements;
    F. Liaise with the position super on all Sim maintenance issues and required Sim upgrades;
    G. Assess impact to training for proposed changes to VFR Sim training equipment/systems and advise the position supervisor;
    H. Identify the qualification requirements for instructional staff to fill role of simulation pilot;
    I. Conduct annual assessment of GT proficiency;
    J. Liaise with the position supervisor for preventative lifecycle maintenance activities and all aspects of the VFR Sim maintenance contract;
    K. Schedule GTs for applicable courses;
    L. Assist instructional staff-and/or students in the operation of the VFR and other simulators;
    M. Instruct AEC and AC Op classes as identified by position supervisor; and
    N. Perform secondary duties and other duties as identified by the position supervisor
