  1. RCSU Eastern has a Class B Permanent for a Capt/Capt MOS ID/Occupation 00232-13-CIC to commence on 06-AUG-2018 until 05-AUG-2021. Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service.
  2. Essential requirements are as fols:
    1. Rank: Capt/Capt
      Applicants holding the substantive rank for the position and those who are one rank lower will be considered at the same time in the selection process. In accordance with ref A, individuals holding the substantive rank of the position being advertised, and who meet the minimum level of qualifications of the position, shall be selected before an individual of lower rank. If no suitable candidate can be selected of equal or lower rank, applicants whose substantive rank is one higher may be considered.Applicants holding the substantive rank for the position and those who are one rank lower will be considered at the same time in the selection process.     7. Required experience and quals:
      • Competency Remarks:
        • - Good writing and verbal communication;

          - Have good knowledge of Regionally Directed Activities (RDA's);

          - Experience in the music field, in evaluation of knowledges and the starting of the music program for Cadet Training Centers (CTC);

          - Relevant experience as coordinator / supervisor of major events (ex: multi-CC/Sqn activities, training site activities, Cadet games, etc.);

          - Optimal knowledge of MS Office suite as well as Fortress for Cadets;

          - Possess excellent knowledge of RDA's with regards to drill, music, CAF Familiarization and sport activities;

          - Have experience in team leadership and supervisor/evaluator roles during activities;

          - Possess the ability to organize operations and carry out multiple activities;

          - Ability to solve problems, achieve objectives, have a sense of initiative, encourage team work, conflict management and to remain efficient in difficult circumstances;

          - Be willing to travel often, be able to work flexible hours (If needed) and for prolonged periods (occasionally); and

          - Have a civilian driver license or military license (DND 404) or be able to obtain one.

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic:
    • - Participate annually in the FORCE Fitness test;

      - General knowledge of program standards (ex: music, marksmanship, etc.);

      - Ability to summarize information from multiple sources to set clear guidelines;

      - If needed, work, assist, or provide direct support to cadet training centers (CTC's) during the summer season. This support will be mainly focused on RDA related fields.
  4. Basic description of duties: - In accordance with guidelines, policy and procedures, is responsible for the execution of the mission of all discretionary regionally directed activities;

    - Manage specialized equipment required for RDA'S and coordinate serviceable material condition, maintenance, repairs, replacement, with the support of J4 team;

    - Collaborate with the J5 team to produce guidelines with regards to planning, coordination and execution;

    - Redaction of e-mails, memo's, joining instructions, schedules, operation orders, reports, SITREP and briefing notes for different activities;

    - Organize, lead, control, and supervise the execution, directly or by subordinates, of course activities, improvements, contents and other activities decided by the chain of command;

    - Coordinate site director activities and tasks and provide liaison with permanent staff;

    - Act as regional coordinator for competitions (sites, area, provincial and national);

    - Act as national coordinator (if needed) for discretionary activities;

    - Manage records, human resources, allowance and selection (cadets & staff)

    - Manage and keep track of a budget, financial resources and salary in an optimal manner;

    - Manage specialized material resources, keep inventory and ensure intended use;

    - Collaborate with J4 & J5 teams on various contracts with regards to site and specialized centers activities;

    - Act as consultant at a regional / national level, contributing to the growth, efficiency, continuous improvement and renewal of programs;

    - Guarantee compliant representation and optimal visibility, in collaboration with PA O, for the programs in different assemblies, public events and forums.
